The Death of a Drug Dealing Sociopath with a Penchant for Killing Innocents to See His Name in Print Because He was Such An Attention Whore (AKA DRDSWAPFKITSTNIPBTASAW or Osama Bin Laden)

In thinking about what to say about the story of the day I find it hard to find a fixed perspective. I vacillate from wanting to sing America F*ck Yeah! to soberly revolting at my celebration of the death of another human being, be it an evil bastard. Somewhere in between all that my mind ponders the future. Will we return to a sensible security strategy now that the baddest of the baddies has been killed, or does this vindicate our loss of civil liberties as the only method of confronting evil and precede further down the road of republic-turn-dictatorship thatRomeand so many other nations in history?
I listened closely to Obama addressingAmericalooking for indications of what this meant for our relations withPakistanand the rest of theMiddle East. I wonder who is watching the watchmen as Obama acknowledges the hard work of the intelligence officers who gathered the information to make it all happen. I think back to the hours of uncertainty immediately after the attack when I didn’t know if people I cared about were in harms way. I think about meeting with my family and friends afterwards healing our emotional wounds by talking about it. It is then that I realize what this should all be about.Americais breathing a giant sigh of relief. But we must clearly voice what we feel. As I said to the world last night before I went to bed: Dream not of the death of our enemies but of the lives we prevent them from taking.
